The UEFA Champions League just started today, and the second day will feature some highly anticipated matches. German powerhouse Bayern Munich is all set to welcome English club Chelsea FC tomorrow at the Allianz Arena, where the two teams seek a victory to kick off the new UCL campaign.

Bayern Munich are desperate to win the Champions League again, as it’s been five years since they won their last Champions League trophy. In 2020, the German giant won their 6th Champions League title. Since then, they have reached the quarter-finals four times and the semi-finals once. They are now on a mission to win the Champions League glory again.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have become the first team to win all four major UEFA Club competitions by defeating Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final. The Blues also have won the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this year by defeating PSG. Additionally, Chelsea returned to the Champions League after being absent in the previous two events. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said, “First of all, we are very happy to be in this competition. One year ago we were playing in the Conference League play-off, so we are happy to be here.”

Joao Pedro has been in good form this season, but he did not play in the league last weekend due to fitness concerns. It will be interesting to see if he can recover before the match against Bayern Munich.
