New Zealand made a brilliant response after losing the first game of the three-match T20 series. Today, they defeated the Lankans by nine wickets with full dominance at the University Oval, where Tim Seifert scored an unbeaten 79 runs to secure the victory.

Batting Innings of Sri Lanka
Losing the toss, Sri Lanka started their batting innings with Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. But the two openers failed to get a good start. They couldn’t stay long on the crease. Sri Lanka lost their first wicket in the 2nd over as Kusal Mendis departed the pitch, scoring 10 runs. A few moments later, Pathum Nissanka also followed the same path.
Losing two wickets in 29 runs, Sri Lanka were in deep trouble. But Kusal Perera and Dhananjaya de Silva played a vital role to tackle the disaster. The two batters played very carefully between the wickets. They made a brilliant partnership of 60 runs. Their partnership was looking good, but Kiwi pacer Adam Milne broke their partnership in the 12th over by taking the wicket of Kusal Perera. Before leaving the crease, Kusal Perea scored 35 off 32 balls. Unfortunately, Dhananjaya de Silva also lost his wicket in the following over, scoring the highest 37 off 26 for the Lankans.
After that, Adam Milne became very aggressive and picked up five wickets in total to destroy the Lankan batting lineup. Due to his aggression, Sri Lanka became all out in 141 runs with one over left.
Batting Innings of New Zealand
Chasing the target, New Zealand had a quick start. Chad Bowes and Tim Seifert started hitting from the very first over. Chad Bowes scored a quick 31 runs from 15 balls before losing the wickets.
However, Tim Seifert and Tom Latham remained not out today to chase the target. Tim Seifert scored the highest 79 runs from 43 balls with six sixes and three fours. On the other side, Tom Latham added an unbeaten 20 runs to seal the victory within 14.4 overs. In the end, New Zealand won the second T20 by nine wickets, leveling the series at 1-1.
