New Zealand secured the home series against Sri Lanka by winning the third T20 at Queenstown. The series was tied 1-1, but the home team sealed the series today by beating Sri Lanka by four wickets.

Sri Lanka had a flying start
Losing the toss, Sri Lanka started their batting innings with Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. The two openers brought a flying start for the Lankans. They made a brilliant partnership of 76 runs in 9.3 overs. Kusal Mendis was very aggressive between the wickets. He smashed five sixes and six fours to score 73 off 48 balls. On the other side, Pathum Nissanka contributed 25 runs to the team.
However, despite having a flying start, the other Lankan batters failed to continue the flow. They kept losing wickets after ten overs. Anyway, Kusal Mendis tried to make resistance, but he returned to the pavilion after being run out in the 14th over. After that, Sri Lanka ended their innings with 182 runs.
Tim Seifert Destroyed the Lankans
Chasing the target, Chad Bowes and Tim Seifert started their innings in style. The two openers were chasing the target, keeping the run rate at 10. But their partnership ended in the 5th over as Chad Bowes lost his wicket to Lahiru Kumara. Chad Bowes scored 17 runs before leaving the crease.
However, Tim Seifert continued hitting boundaries. He made another brilliant partnership with the new batter, Tom Latham. Together they picked up 84 runs, which made the basement for the Kiwis. Skipper Tom Latham lost his wicket after scoring 31 off 23 balls, while Tim Seifert scored the highest 88 runs from 48 balls. Before losing the wicket to Pramod Madushan, Tim Seifert smashed three sixes and ten fours.
Lahiru Kumara made the match more interesting by taking three crucial wickets. But Rachin Ravindra and Adam Milne successfully chased the target with one ball in their hands.
