The intersection of cryptocurrency and sport is continuously expanding as major crypto companies look to capitalize from the number of viewers major sporting events pull in. A prime example of this has been Crypto.com and its highly lucrative advertising partnerships with Formula 1 racing and the UFC.
While the rapidly expanding crypto exchange has splashed the cash for the right to be featured in these sports, that investment has already paid off as the platform has reported that its user base has since grown.
The Expanding Reach of Crypto
Cryptocurrency growth has been exponential since Bitcoin first showed the world what a powerful financial disruptor it can be. Fifteen years on and there are now tens of thousands of cryptocurrency tokens out there, with new ones being minted every day. Major crypto companies have grown to encompass everything from exchanges and crypto wallets to Anonymous crypto sports betting sites and many online casinos that now accept them.
According to sports and gaming content writer Daniel Nashrell, anonymity and privacy have become priority concerns for many online betting enthusiasts. Crypto betting platforms have helped provide the perfect answer for this since they’re run on blockchain technology, feature decentralized transactions, and different peer-to-peer verification systems that make their digital ledgers practically immutable.
Crypto.com’s Partnership With F1 and UFC
This win-win has drawn many giants of the crypto world into the sports world since they now have a common feeding industry between them in online sports betting. As such, Crypto.com’s foray into F1 racing and the UFC is just the latest in a long line of powerful and lucrative partnerships that have popped up between the sports world and the crypto industry in the 21st century.
Crypto.com’s COO Eric Anianzi recently spoke to Cointelegraph about this interesting partnership, which has spawned a historic moment for the UFC and become One of F1 racing’s most visible advertising deals. Anyone who has watched a recent UFC fight or a Formula One race could hardly fail to notice Crypto.com’s involvement with these two sporting powerhouses. The exchange has since featured prominently in massive advertising boards throughout all of Formula One’s world-renowned circuits and races held so far and in UFC’s famous octagons.
A Historic Partnership
In A historic move for the UFC, Crypto.com has also become the fighting brand’s first-ever global Official Fight Kit Sponsor, which entitles the exchange to feature its branding on UFC fight kits that will be used by UFC fighters, as well as on the specialized apparel worn by the athletes’ corner. The visibility this has brought, together with being featured throughout the arenas, in the octagons, and on television broadcasts, has led to a significant uptick in users for the exchange since the premier MMA fighting organization has a global audience of 625 million people.
Similarly, Though many suggest a waning interest, F1 racing attracts more than a billion viewers from around the world across a race calendar, making their partnership deal with Crypto.com another huge contributor to the exchange’s recent growth.
Speaking to Cointelegraph, Anianzi was quick to mention how beneficial these partnerships have been, stating that, “For a brand to be built in just a couple of years is very difficult and very challenging to maintain. Staying top of mind for users is very challenging, and I think those investments have clearly paid off.”
Between its rising influence in the iGaming industry through Crypto gambling sites and a growing footprint in the sporting world, cryptocurrencies are clearly here to stay. Exchanges like Crypto.com are playing a major role in facilitating their trade and providing a safe platform for transacting with cryptocurrency. Bitcoin was once seen as a vision of a world without centralized finance. It seems that vision is rapidly becoming a reality.
