Career Overview
Eden Hazard has become a star at Chelsea FC. In 2012, Roberto Di Matteo was the manager of Chelsea FC, and he decided to go for Eden Hazard in the summer transfer window. He pushed Chelsea to sign Hazard. Finally, Chelsea beat Man City and Man United to sign Eden Hazar from Lille for £32m, and the rest is history. Since then, Eden Hazard made 352 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, where he scored 110 goals for the Blues. Hazard has won many trophies for Chelsea, two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, the FA Cup, and the League Cup. The Belgian playmaker also won the PFA Players' Player of the Year for Chelsea back in 2015. However, his time at Stamford Bridge came to an end in 2019. He left Chelsea FC to join football giant Real Madrid FC in 2019. At the time, Real Madrid signed him for £130 million, a club record. He signed a five-year deal with the Los Blancos, which would end in 2024. But he was never in his prime form at Real Madrid. Eden Hazar scored only 7 goals in 76 appearances for Real Madrid. He missed so many games for Real Madrid due to his injury. He rarely completed 90 minutes for Los Blancos. Hazard played only six full games in his four years at Real Madrid. However, Eden Hazard left Real Madrid in the last June. His contract with Real Madrid was terminated by mutual agreement. Hazard wrote, "After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world." He continued, "During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches, and teammates - thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all. I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian Selection." There is no doubt Hazard was one of the most talented footballers in the last decade. But the injury ended his career so early. Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was also concerned about Hazard. "The way, match after match, he's being punished by opponents and he's not being protected by referees. Maybe one day we won't have Eden Hazard," Jose Mourinho said in 2015. Today, we lost a pure gem from football.Related reading
