Match Report
At Anfield, Liverpool welcomed Chelsea FC, aiming to continue their winning run. Jurgen Klopp set up the team formation with 4-3-3 against Chelsea. Since Mo Salah is injured, Diogo Jota played in front along with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz. On the other hand, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, where Cole Palmer led the attack with the back of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher, and Madueke. The match started with both sides trying to get an early lead, but eventually, Liverpool took control of the midfield. Dominik Szoboszlai and Mac Allister kept forward passing and as a consequence, the home side broke the deadlock when Diogo Jota found the back of the net in the 23rd minute. Chelsea's response was very good, but Liverpool showed their defensive solidity at Anfield. The home side doubled their lead before halftime as Conor Bradly, who was deployed instead of Trent Alexander Arnold, scored a brilliant goal in the 39th minute with the help of Luis Diaz. Scoring two goals in 40 minutes, Liverpool became more aggressive and were looking for more goals. The opportunity, however, came in the additional time of the first half when Liverpool got a penalty kick. Unfortunately, Dawin Nunez failed to convert from the spot kick, yet Liverpool went to the break with a two-goal lead. Chelsea, however, were desperate to get back into the game. But their attempts were not close enough to score a goal. The home side got their third goal as Dominik Szloboszlai found the net in the 65th minute from an assist from Conor Bradly. At that time, Liverpool already secured the game and slowed down their approach. Chelsea FC took that advantage and returned a goal. Christopher Nkunku scored that only goal for Chelsea in the 71st minute. But they were nowhere near to make a comeback. Besides, Liverpool extended their lead as Luis Diaz found the net in the 79th minute with the help of Darwin Nunez. After that, both sides couldn't score more in the remaining minutes, resulting in Liverpool winning the match by a 4-1 margin.Related reading
