The victory pushed United higher in the Premier League table, while Wolves suffered their eighth straight defeat.
First Half
The first goal came halfway through the first half, and it was a gift for United. Wolves made a mistake in midfield and lost the ball. After a bit of confusion inside the box, Bruno Fernandes pushed a shot past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in the 25th minute to make it 1-0.
United then missed several good chances to score again. Because of this, they were punished right before halftime. In stoppage time, Wolves finally created a good moment. A cross was recycled into the box, and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde slid in to volley the ball into the net. This ended Wolves’ long run without scoring and made the score 1-1 at halftime. The goal gave Wolves fans a small spark of hope.
Second Half
Manchester United came out much stronger in the second half. Their attack was fast, sharp, and too strong for Wolves to handle.
The game changed completely in a 15-minute period. In the 51st minute, United took the lead again. They broke forward quickly, and Diogo Dalot carried the ball before sending a perfect pass to Bryan Mbeumo, who tapped it into an empty goal after the Wolves goalkeeper had rushed out.
About ten minutes later, United scored again in beautiful style. Fernandes lifted a clever pass over the defence, and Mason Mount made a great run to meet it. He finished with a clean volley to make it 3-1. It was a high-quality goal that showed United’s confidence.
United’s final goal came from a penalty in the 82nd minute. VAR confirmed a handball in the box, and Bruno Fernandes calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner for his second goal of the night. That sealed a strong 4-1 win. This win also moves Manchester United to 6th in the league table, with only one point away from the top four. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers remain at the bottom of the table with 13 defeats in the league!
