Defending Champions Manchester City are on the verge of winning their 4th successive league title. The Citizens are only one point behind the table topper, Arsenal. They will visit the Spurs Stadium tonight to face off against Tottenham and could go two points clear of Arsenal with one game left to play after tonight’s match.

“We have something unique in front of our eyes [but] at the beginning of the season, no, we didn’t think at all about winning four Premier Leagues. But always there has to be something. When we were in February, March, April, it was ‘Oh, we are still there – we can do it’ and that ignited something in all our heads to say ‘Guys, no team has done it,’ said City boss Pep Guardiola in the press.

A win will get the Citizens very close to winning the title. But this match is equally important for the Spurs as well. Although they are nowhere near the title race, they need to win this game to secure European football next season.

However, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou wants his side to give a difficult test for Manchester City. He said, “It’s a great challenge for us. Why not go out there and measure ourselves against a team that is consistently competing for trophies and see how we measure up? We’ll go out there and hopefully give them a good test.”

According to previous home records, Tottenham Hotspur did a brilliant job against Manchester City. They have won all their last four home matches against the Citizens in the Premier League. Additionally, Manchester City failed to score a single goal in any of those four meetings with the Spurs.

Pep Guardiola, as the City boss, suffered more defeats against Tottenham Hotspur than any other opponent.

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur will miss the service of Richarlison due to a calf injury. He will also miss the upcoming Copa America because of this injury! The London side club will also be without Timo Werner, Ben Davies, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster, and Destiny Udogie due to their respective injuries.

Manager Ange Postecoglou also confirmed that  Yves Bissouma will miss the final two matches of Tottenham as he picked up a knee injury.

Manchester City, on the other hand, do not have any serious issues. Nathan Ake got a slight knock during the match against Fulham, but he should be fine ahead of tonight’s clash. The rest of the players are ready to play tonight’s crucial match at Spurs Stadium.

Possible Lineup for Tottenham Hotspur:

Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Emerson; Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson; Son

Possible Lineup for Manchester City:

Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Doku, Haaland, Foden

Prediction: Tottenham 1-3 Man City

After having lost four matches in a row, Tottenham Hotspur returned to the winning track with the match against Burnley. But their defense has been a massive concern for the manager Postecoglou. They have conceded 14 goals in their last five league games. Therefore, it will be very difficult to keep a clean sheet against Manchester City, who are chasing the title.
