Finally, Paris Saint-Germain win the UEFA Champions League for the very first time in their history. After years of heartbreak and near misses, Paris Saint-Germain have finally done it. On a magical night in Munich, PSG crushed Inter Milan 5–0 to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
Nasser Al Khelaifi, the owner of PSG, has been very desperate to win European glory, and for this, his investment has been crazy in recent years. PSG have spent a massive amount on signing superstars like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and many more. But none of those players could give PSG the Champions League trophy.
Finally, former Barca boss Luis Enrique came with a mission and made history to win the Champions League for Paris Saint Germain. Manager Luis Enrique deserves huge credit for this historic win. His tactics were spot on, and his team dominated from start to finish. PSG took only 12 minutes to take the lead as Achraf Hakimi found the back of the net with the help of Désiré Doué.
Désiré Doué, the 19-year-old kid, stole the spotlight in the Champions League final with two stunning goals in the 20th and 63rd minute. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu scored two more goals in the 73rd and 86th minute respectively to secure a dominating win against Inter Milan.
This victory also completed a treble for PSG, who had already won Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France this season. They are now the first French club to achieve this rare feat.
“We have made history, we have written our names in the history of this club,” said Achraf Hakimi after the game. Hakimi highly appreciated manager Luis Enrique, saying, “He [Luis Enrique] is the man who has changed everything at PSG. Since he came here, he has changed the way football is seen. He is a loyal man; he deserves it more than anyone else.”
Captain Marquinhos shared his thoughts and said, “It’s a mix of joy, of all the emotions we’ve spent together. I’ve suffered, but I’ve grown up with this team. So many players who have come through here who deserved this and didn’t succeed. Now we’re here and we’re bringing it home. I’m thinking of all the supporters who have been with us, those at the Parc des Princes and those around the world. I love you, enjoy it and we’re going to enjoy it here. This is the best day of my life.”
