Quick Navigation
The stage is all set for the UEFA Champions League final in Germany. Two heavyweights, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, will fight for the glory on Saturday at Allianz Arena. It’s a great chance for the French club Paris Saint-Germain to win their first-ever Champions League glory, while Italian club Inter Milan are desperate to secure their fourth UCL title.
Inter Milan were so close to winning the Champions League in 2023, but Manchester City defeated the Nerezzurri in the final to win European glory. Meanwhile, Paris Saint Germain played in the Champions League final only once – in 2020, where Bayer Munich defeated the French club. Now, it’s time to see who will get the Champions League title at Allianz Arena.
Stats & Facts
- This will be the first-ever official match between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, and only the second Champions League final between an Italian and a French team.
- Inter Milan is playing their seventh Champions League final. They’ve won the trophy three times (1964, 1965, 2010) but lost their most recent final in 2023 to Manchester City.
- PSG is in the Champions League final for only the second time.
- French clubs have had a tough time in European finals, winning only 2 out of 15. That includes just 1 Champions League title (Marseille in 1993).
- This is the fifth time the final is being held in Munich, and each previous winner at this venue lifted the trophy for the first time—something PSG will hope to repeat.
Team News
Paris Saint-Germain will be without Presnel Kimpembe due to his injury. Apart from his injury, PSG boss Luis Enrique has a full-fit squad ahead of the final. Top scorer Ousmane Dembele came off the bench in the second half against Arsenal in the second leg of the semifinal. However, the French winger is now fully fit and is the favorite to start tomorrow.
As for Inter Milan, Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski are in doubt due to fitness concerns. However, Inter boss Simone Inzaghi will wait for them till the end. Captain Lautaro Martinez played 70 minutes against Barcelona, and since then, he hasn’t played for Inter as he needed rest to recover. The Argentine World Cup winner is fit now and ready to lead the attack.
Possible Lineup for Paris Saint-Germain:
Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia
Possible Lineup for Inter Milan:
Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez
Prediction: PSG 2-2 Inter Milan (Inter Win on Penalties)
The semifinal between Inter Milan and Barcelona saw a total of 13 goals in two legs, where Inter Milan scored 7! We are expecting another high-scoring match in the final tomorrow. However, PSG are a very compact team this season, and they have some exciting players who can give them the lead at any time. There is a good chance the match will go to the tie-breaker, where we expect Inter Milan to win.
