The stage is all set for another final between the Champions League winner and the Europa League winner. The last season was a total dream for the French club Paris Saint-Germain. They completed the quadruple by winning the League 1, French Super Cup, Coupe de France, and the most precious UEFA Champions League. It was a long-held desire for PSG to win the Champions League, and they had invested heavily in bringing world-class players such as Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Sergio Ramos, and many more. But none of those players helped them to win the Champions League.

Finally, manager Luis Enrique led them to secure their first-ever and long-desired Champions League title last season, even without those superstars. PSG have another great chance tomorrow to lift another trophy as they will face the UEFA Europa League winner, Tottenham Hotspur, in the Super Cup.

The last season was a disaster for Tottenham Hotspur, finishing the league in 17th. Yet, the Spurs were able to win the Europa League by defeating Manchester United early in May. Despite winning their first-ever trophy in history, Tottenham Hotspur sacked Ange Postecoglou for the poor result in the league. Now Thomas Frank, the new manager, is keen to win a trophy before starting their mission in the EPL new season starting next week.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank shared his thoughts ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final. He said, “We’re playing in a final; it’s fantastic. Hopefully we can use some of the experience we have from the last final that the team played against Manchester United. [Paris] are the best team in Europe. They won the treble, and it looks like they are extremely strong in all 11 starting positions.”

“It’s a fantastic challenge to have in the first game but, of course, we believe in ourselves. We’re going to a final and there will be one objective – try to win it,” stated the Spurs boss.

Team News

Paris Saint-Germain have all players fit ahead of the final. But goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is on his way out of the team as he is heavily linked with Manchester United. Lucas Chevalier will replace him between the bars. Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez missed the Club World Cup final due to suspensions, but the duo is available for tomorrow’s final against Tottenham Hotspur.

As for the Spurs, midfielder James Maddison picked up an ACL injury and will be out of the squad for a long time. Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin are also unavailable due to their respective injuries.

Possible Lineup for Paris Saint-Germain:

Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Possible Lineup for Tottenham Hotspur:

Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha, Sarr; Johnson, Richarlison, Kudus

Prediction: PSG 2-0 Tottenham

Paris Saint-Germain have been unstoppable, although they suffered an unexpected defeat against Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. Still, they are now the best team in Europe and the favorite to win the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur, who suffered a heavy defeat against Bayern Munich last week in a friendly game.
