It’s been a very shocking news for the Chelsea fans around the world. Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea FC by mutual consent. The Argentine joined Chelsea only 11 months ago, replacing Frank Lampard. But his tenure has come to an end after the meeting with the owner Todd Boehly and Co.
Chelsea released an official statement regarding the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. The club stated, “Chelsea FC can confirm that the Club and Mauricio Pochettino have mutually agreed to part ways.”
Sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley confirmed that the club has parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino. They stated, “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.”
Pochettino Leaves Chelsea
London side club Chelsea FC have been going through a lot of ups and downs for the last two years. Following Roman Abvramovic’s exit from Chelsea ownership, new owner Todd Boehly heavily invested in Chelsea. He wants quick success, and that is why he doesn’t want to give time to the managers.
Under Boehly’s ownership, Chelsea have changed five managers in just two years! Mauricio Pochettino joined Chelsea when the club finished the league in 12th under Frank Lampard. However, the London side club has finished this season in 6th and secured European football for next season. Pochettino also took the club to the final of the Carabao Cup and the semi-final of the FA Cup.
Yet the owners are not convinced by Pochettino’s approach. As a result, Pochettino left the club by mutual consent after three meetings with Todd Boehly.
Pochettino said, “Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club’s history. The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come.”
However, the club also confirmed that Pochettino’s coaching staff, Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and Sebastiano Pochettino have left the club.
Who will be the next?
Chelsea have already changed five managers under Todd Boehly in just two years. There are rumors that legendary manager Jose Mourinho would return at Stamford Bridge.
But the reality is Chelsea FC is looking for 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 who can play offensive football, possession, improve the team defensively and trust young talents.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness, Girona boss Michel, and Ipswich boss Town’s Kieran McKenna are on the list of Chelsea. Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, is also appreciated at Chelsea.
However, Chelsea do not want to take much time to find a new manager. They are actively looking for a new coach and will try their best to find one before the new season starts.
