English club Chelsea’s recent form has been nothing short of a nightmare for the team and its fans. Under the interim management of Frank Lampard, Chelsea has suffered six consecutive defeats in a row. This disappointing streak continued in their latest match against London rivals Arsenal, where they were defeated once again. The club’s struggles have raised questions about Lampard’s leadership and whether he has what it takes to turn things around. In this context, it’s worth examining the reasons behind Chelsea’s poor performances and considering what the future might hold for the club under Lampard’s management.

Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

At Emirates Stadium, Arsenal hosted Chelsea in the London Derby. Arsenal are still hoping for the league title after losing the top place to Man City in their previous match. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta played his team in a 4-3-3 formation, where the manager deployed Leandro Trossard, replacing Martin Odegaard. On the other side, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard also used the same formation as Arteta did.

The match started with Arsenal dominating the Blues at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal kept creating chances as their midfield was fantastic, keeping more possession under their control. As a result, the home side didn’t have to wait much to take the lead against Chelsea. In the 18th minute, Martin Odegaard netted the ball to put the Gunners ahead of Chelsea. Odegaard scored that goal with Xhaka’s assist.

Scoring the first goal, Arsenal became more aggressive. They highly pressed Chelsea as well as defended very well. However, The Gunners doubled their lead in the first half. Martin Odegaard once again scored for the Gunners as he found the net in the 31st minute. Granit Xhaka, the provider of the first goal, also assisted in the 2nd goal. Moreover, the Gunners got their third goal within three minutes. This time, Gabriel Jesus scored a stunning goal in the 34th minute to make the scoreline 3-0.

Returning from the break, Arsenal slowed down their approach. Chelsea, therefore, tried to score goals in the second half. However, the Blues scored finally as Noni Madueke netted for the Blues in the 65th minute. Anyway, both sides couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. As a result, Arsenal secured a comfortable victory by a 3-1 margin at Emirates Stadium.
