The match started with the boss side playing aggressive football. But Liverpool took control of the midfield as the time went on. They created so many chances in the first half but failed to score. Newcastle United showed their defensive solidity in the first half, resulting in the first half ending 0-0.

Coming from the break, the home team had gone wild to find the net as it was a must-win game for Liverpool. Finally, Liverpool got an early lead in the second half when Mohammad Salah found the net to break the deadlock. In the 49th minute, the Egyptian king scored a stunning goal with the help of Darwin Nunez. 

But Alexander Isak didn’t waste time as he equalized for Newcastle United within five minutes. After that, Liverpool became desperate to take the lead and succeed when Curtis Jones netted the ball in the 74th minute. Liverpool’s second goal was a massive boost to the entire squad, leading them to score another one within a few minutes. This time, Cody Gakpo found the back of the net in the 78th minute, almost securing the game for the home side.

But Sven Botman gave a lifeline to the Magpies as he scored in the 81st minute, making the scoreline 3-2. It seemed the Magpies could tie the game but Liverpool were very careful in the remaining minutes. In addition, the Klopp boys got a penalty kick, from where Mohammad Salah completed his brace in the 86th minute.
