After a stunning win against Liverpool, Arsenal are ready to be back in action tomorrow. They will face off against West Ham United in the Premier League action at the London Stadium, aiming to get closer to the top spot.
Arsenal won their last league title in the 2003-2004 season. But for the last two seasons, the Gunners have been doing their best to win the league. However, the success is yet to come. Arsenal are still in the title race this season, standing in 3rd with 49 points. The Gunners got a massive boost when they defeated the table topper, Liverpool, last week. There is no doubt that Arsenal will do everything to extend their winning run when they visit West Ham United tomorrow.
West Ham United, on the other hand, are winless in their last six games across all competitions. In addition, the Hammers suffered a heavy defeat against Manchester United in their last league encounter. The last time they won a match was against Arsenal back in December, when they defeated the Gunners by a 2-0 margin.
Stats & Facts
- West Ham United already defeated Arsenal in the Premier League back in December. A win over the Gunners would see them completing the league double over Arsenal for the first time since the 2006-2007 season.
- Although West Ham are the home side, their home records against Arsenal are not good enough in the Premier League. They won only one of their last 15 home games against the Gunners. Meanwhile, West Ham lost nine games and tied the remaining five matches.
- West Ham have already defeated Arsenal twice this season, one in the EFL Cup and the other in the EPL. A win against Arsenal would see them winning three games against Arsenal in a single season for the first time since the 1924-1925 campaign.
- West Ham United are unbeaten in their last six home games, including three wins and three draws.
West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola got a head injury during the defeat against Manchester United and was replaced in the second half. But his injury is not serious, and he should be available for tomorrow’s game. However, the Hammers will miss the service of Lucas Paqueta, and Michail Antonio due to their respective injury.
As for Arsenal, they missed the service of Gabriel Jesus during the win against Arsenal. Arteta, however, hopes to get him back, but the match against West Ham comes too soon for him. But the Gunners will be without Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber, and Fabio Vieira due to injuries.
Possible Lineup for West Ham:
Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Johnson, Ward-Prowse, Kudus; Bowen
