Tottenham Hotspur made a dramatic comeback against Luton Town in the last Saturday. Despite conceding an early goal, the Spurs returned two more goals and secured all three points against Luton Town. However, the Spurs are going to play today against West Ham United after having a short 2-day break.

“It’s another tough game, a London derby away from home, and West Ham have been good this year. So, it’s another good challenge for us but I’m sure the lads will have got a lot of belief out of the win on Saturday and we’re looking forward to it,” Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said in the pre-match press conference.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in 5th with 56 points and are looking to enter the top four. Meanwhile, West Ham United are in 7th with 12 points behind the Spurs.

Stats & Facts

  • West Ham United are winless in their last three league games, including the defeat against Newcastle United.
  • The Hammers have already defeated Tottenham Hotspur this season. A win would see them completing the league double over the Spurs for the first time since the 2013-2014 season.
  • The London Stadium has been a difficult place for Tottenham. They have failed to win any of their last three away games against West Ham United at London Stadium, including two defeats and a draw. It is also their longest winless run against the Hammers since 2001.
  • West Ham have conceded 19 goals in eight London Derbies this season, which is the second-most after Fulham.
  • The Spurs have lost three of their last five London Derby this season in the Premier League.

Team News

West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola got a serious thigh injury and was forced off during the match against Newcastle United. He hasn’t recovered yet so Lukasz Fabianski will start for the Hammers tonight. However, Nayef Aguerd is available again after missing the Saturday game, but Edson Alvarez will miss the match due to a suspension.

As for the Spurs, they do not have any fresh injuries following the match against Luton Town. Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster, and Manor Solomon are still unavailable due to their respective injury.

Possible Lineup for West Ham:

Fabianski; Coufal, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson; Ward-Prowse, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus; Antonio

Possible Lineup for Tottenham:

Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Johnson, Maddison, Son; Richarlison

Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been inconsistent throughout the season. But they can’t afford to drop points in order to stay in the top four. Skipper Son Heung-min has been a key player for the Spurs, and he has to deliver against the Hammers to win the match.

West Ham United, on the other hand, are winless in their last three games in a row. Although they are the home team tonight, it will be difficult for them to beat the Spurs.
