Argentina, the Champions of the World, ran riot over Bolivia tonight at Buenos Aires in the World Cup qualifiers. The Albiceleste were winless in their last two games and were very desperate when they welcome Bolivia tonight.

From the start, the home side were massively aggressive and created tons of chances at Estadio Mas Monumental. Lionel Messi, who only played one game after the Copa America final, showed his magic tonight against Bolivia. He opened the scoresheet for the Albiceleste and scored two more goals in the final ten minutes to complete his hat trick. Lautaro Martinez, Julian Alvarez, and Thiago Almada also scored to secure a dominating 6-0 win over Bolivia.

Match Report

Argentine boss Lionel Scaloni set up the team formation with 4-3-3, where Lionel Messi led the frontline with Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez. Alexis Mac Allister surprisingly returned from the injury and played tonight in the midfield.

Meanwhile, Bolivia boss played his team in a defensive 5-4-1 formation against the home side.

Despite having a defensive formation, Bolivia could not hold tight. Argentina only took 19 minutes to break the deadlock when Lionel Messi scored a brilliant goal.

Lionel Messi was on fire and set up two goals for Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez in the first half, making it 3-0 for Argentina. The visitors were destroyed in the first half and could not fight back.

Coming back from the break, Argentina kept the same attacking rhythm. It was Thiago Almada who scored first in the second half. Coming off the bench in the 65th minute, Almada made it 4-0 from Molina’s assist.  “I’m very happy for this opportunity, every time I have to be prepared and show my skills on the pitch,” Almada said after the match.

However, Lionel Messi highly praised Thiago Almada a few months back. The captain said, “Thiago is very fresh, he is a very fast player and he is very good at one-on-one situations. He is very clever, he is not afraid of anyonehe takes you on,”

Anyway, Lionel Messi scored two more goals in the last ten minutes to complete his 58th hattrick and secured a dominating 6-0 win over Bolivia.
