Quick Navigation
This season has been very solid for Liverpool, and they have a great chance to win a treble. Liverpool are still at the top of the Premier League table and have finished the League Phase in the UCL at the top. However, the All Reds have a tough challenge tomorrow when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur in the 2nd leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal.
Tottenham Hotspur have already won the first leg, and now they need to avoid the defeat only. Meanwhile, this match is a must-win for Liverpool to secure their spot in the final. However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot complains about the tight schedule they are facing. The manager said, “That is one of the only things I don’t understand here in England. Everywhere around the world, and in Europe as well when we play Champions League, we can take 23 players to the game and we are here in a country where we play the most games – especially the likes of Aston Villa, us, Arsenal, Chelsea, all the ones that are playing in Europe – and we have the League Cup over here and we have the FA Cup. So, we play so, so many games, so if you are able to play all these games you need a big squad.”
Team News
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander Arnold picked up an injury during the match against Bournemouth last week and left the pitch early. “He is going to miss the game tomorrow and we have to see if he is able to play on Sunday,” confirmed Arne Slot.
However, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones have recovered and are available for tomorrow’s game, but Joe Gomez still remains out of the team due to his injury.
As for Tottenham, Radu Dragusin suffered an ACL injury last week and will be out of the team for the rest of the season. “Kevin (Danso) and Mathys (Tel) are both available,” confirmed Ange Postecoglou.
Possible Lineup for Liverpool:
Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Diaz, Gakpo
Possible Lineup for Tottenham Hotspur:
Kinsky; Pedro Porro, Van de Ven, Davies, Gray; Bergvall, Bissouma, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Spurs
This match is likely to be different from the first leg as Tottenham are now more vulnerable. They have been very inconsistent and lost four back-to-back league games before they beat Brentford last week. On the other hand, Liverpool are now a real trophy contender in this tournament. So we expect Liverpool to beat Tottenham Hotspur to reach the final of the Carabao Cup.
