It’s been a very difficult time for Liverpool. They had suffered a massive defeat in the Merseyside Derby when Everton beat them at Goodison Park. Liverpool missed the opportunity to go to the top of the table due to this shock defeat.

Salah’s poor form continues as he scored only two goals between March and April. Coach Jurgen Klopp benched Salah for today’s match against West Ham, which made Salah unhappy. Eventually, they were both involved in a heated argument at the touchline.
However, Klopp insisted that he had solved the issue in the dressing room after the match. He said, “We spoke about that moment in the dressing room with the lads, it’s done.”
But Mo Salah refused to speak to the media, saying, “If I speak today, there will be fire.”
Regardless of the issue between Salah and Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are now no longer in the title race.
Match Report
West Ham United welcomed Liverpool today at London Stadium, where David Moyes set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1. Besides, Klopp played his team in a 4-3-3 formation, replacing Salah for Elliott.
The first half saw Liverpool controlling the midfield, keeping more possession under them. But the visitors couldn’t break West Ham’s defense in the first half. Moreover, West Ham stunned the All-Reds when Jarron Bowen scored a brilliant goal just before half-time, leading the Hammers to take the lead.
But Liverpool didn’t take time, as they immediately found the equalizer after coming back from the break. In the 48th minute, defender Andrew Robertson equalized with the help of Luis Diaz. Additionally, Liverpool took the lead when Gakpo’s volley found the back of the net after deflecting on Ogbonna in the 65th minute.
Unfortunately, their lead didn’t stay longer since Mitchell Antonio scored a goal for the Hammers in the 77th minute with an assist from Bowen. The two teams, however, couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. As a result, the match ended in a 2-2 tie. which left Liverpool out of the title race officially.
Klopp on Drawing against West Ham
Jurgen Klopp has shared his thoughts on drawing the match against West Ham United. In an interview with TNT Sports, Klopp said, “We just conceded out of nothing and need a few more chances and kind of scrappy goals in the end to score twice. When we were 2-1 up we could control it, and still as I said in a lot of moments playing really well but the final situation we didn’t take. That has been the story of the last four weeks.”
