The Carabao Cup is all set to feature a highly anticipated match between Fulham FC and Liverpool. Fulham will host Liverpool FC tonight at Craven Cottage to play the 2nd leg of the semifinal. In the first leg, Liverpool made a brilliant comeback despite conceding first at Anfield. They won the first leg by a 2-1 margin, thanks to Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo.

The reverse fixture will take place tonight at Craven Cottage as Fulham are desperate to surprise the Klopp boys at their home. Fulham FC have no alternative but to defeat Liverpool, while Liverpool just need to avoid the defeat to book their place in the final of this tournament. However, Chelsea FC have already secured the final, and the winner of today’s match will face them in the final.

Liverpool are in fantastic form this season and are unbeaten in their last eight games across all competitions. They are currently the table topper in the English Premier League with 48 points, five points ahead of Man City. Furthermore, the Klopp boys have already beaten Fulham FC in an English Premier League match in December, which was a seven-goal thriller. Fulham fought hard, but Liverpool were the ultimate winner in the end.

Fulham, on the other hand, are not in their best form. They have lost their last two games – one against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and the other one against Chelsea in the EPL. The Marco Silva boys are desperate to get back to winning ways, but this may not be the ideal match as Liverpool are flying under Jurgen Klopp.

Team News

Fulham striker Adama Traore is still unavailable for his injury. Harrison Reed was absent in the first leg due to his illness, but he has recovered and should be available for tonight’s clash. However, the home side will miss the service of Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Fode Ballo-Toure as they all are on international duty in the AFCON Cup.

On the other side, Liverpool have a massive blow for their upcoming matches. Mohammad Salah was on International duty in the AFCON Cup with Egypt – but he returned to Liverpool with a serious injury, which will keep him out of the pitch at least for two weeks.

Apart from Salah, Liverpool have a long injury list, including Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Kostas Tsimikas, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Possible Lineup for Fulham:

Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Diop, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian; Jimenez

Possible Lineup for Liverpool:

Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Elliott, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Gakpo, Jota, Nunez

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Liverpool

Fulham have been showing their scoring abilities in recent games. The Marco Silva boys stunned Arsenal a few weeks ago, winning the match by a 2-1 margin. They also started well in the first leg against Liverpool. As the home side, Fulham have a great chance to score first.

But Liverpool are very determined to win this competition. Without Mo Salah, they still are very strong to beat Fulham. Liverpool smashed AFC Bournemouth with four goals without Salah. Therefore, we expect Liverpool to win this match and secure the final.
