As a result, Man United were very desperate to sign another CB as soon as possible. They were linked with Matthjis de Ligt, who only wanted to sign for Man United. De Ligt had played under Erik Ten Hag at Ajax when Ajax reached the Champions League final. De Ligt was the captain of Ajax at the age of 19. That is why Man United chose to sign him. Man United offered a package of €50m for De Ligt, with an initial €45m plus €5m ad-ons. The total amount will be paid in three years.
However, Matthjis de Ligt will sign a five-year contract for Man United. He will have his medical on Monday and will be registered by Tuesday so that he can play Man United’s first PL game of the season against Fulham.
Manchester United secured another deal from Bayern Munich as they agreed to sign Noussair Mazroui. Mazroui was desperate to join the English club. But it was very crucial to sell Aaron Wan Bissaka in order to sign Mazroui. However, Man United reached an agreement with West Ham United for Aaron Wan Bissaka with a €15m transfer fee. As soon as Man United secured Bissaka’s future, they went for Mazroui.
Bayern Munich accepted the offer from Man United which included an initial €15m plus €5m ad-ons. Like Matthjis de Ligt, Noussair Mazroui will also sign a five-year contract for Man United. He is also likely to complete his medical along with Matthjis de Ligt.
