We are just four days away from the start of the English Premier League. But clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are yet to complete their business in the summer transfer window. Manchester United are in the process of selling more than three players, while Tottenham Hotspur are trying hard to keep Harry Kane at the club.
Man United to sell players
It’s been a busy summer for Manchester United. Erik Ten Hag identified three core problems that needed to be addressed after he took charge of the club. As far as it stands, Manchester United completed the signing of three players to solve this problem.
Man United signed Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund in this summer transfer window. However, the club is now focusing on offloading players. Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny Van de Beek, and Dean Henderson are the potential outgoings from Manchester United.
As we reported yesterday, West Ham United made a bid for Harry Maguire. The London side club is also interested in signing Scott McTominay. They want both players for £60m. However, Man United have rejected West Ham’s bid for a double signing as they want more. But the negotiations are going on for Harry Maguire.
Manchester United now have a lot of options in the midfield. Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and Mason Mount are favorites to play in the starting XI. Moreover, Man United are also in talk with Fiorentina to sign Sofiyan Amrabat. That is why Scott McTominay, Fred, and Donny Van de Beek’s future at the club are uncertain.
Spanish club Real Sociedad wants to sign Donny Van de Beek. They are open to bringing Donny either on a permanent move or a loan move. On the other hand, Fred has been linked with Galatasaray. The coming days could see Man United selling some of these players.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur rejected Bayern Munich’s crazy package for captain Harry Kane, worth €120m. It was believed the final proposal from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane. But German club Bayern Munich haven’t left the race.
Bayern Munich have been very determined to sign Harry Kane since the beginning of July. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski, the Bavarians have been looking for a genuine striker. Newly appointed boss Thomas Tuchel believes Harry Kane would be the perfect signing for Bayern Munich. That is why Bayern didn’t leave the race, and they are now preparing to make another improved bid for the striker.
With an interview with Sky Sports, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou talked about the club’s situation. He said, The most important thing right now for us is to build a team. It’s not about one or two. If this was year two, year three of the project, and the team’s already playing the way I wanted to, and we’ve got the foundation of a really good squad, and Harry was the only thing floating about, I’d be spending a lot more time on it and it’ll probably be a little bit more distracting in terms of the energy I need.”
“But right now, as important as Harry is to this group, what’s more important for me is what I do with the group,” the manager added.
