Mason Mount
The Chelsea midfielder has entered the final year of his contract with Chelsea. Mason Mount is an academy graduate of Chelsea FC. But due to the lack of playing time and salary structure, Mount has decided not to renew his contract. His decision is clear that he will not extend his contract for another year. That is why Chelsea must sell him in this transfer window to generate some cash.
Native English club Manchester United have shown a strong interest in signing Mason Mount. The player is also keen to join the Red Devils as he accepted the personal terms with Man United. But Chelsea won’t let him leave unless they get their asking price. The London side club has rejected Man United’s three bids. The last bid was worth around £55m, which was rejected. However, Chelsea haven’t closed the door. They made a counter bid of £58m plus £7m in add-ons in exchange for Mount.
However, Manchester United are observing the situation. They could walk away from this negotiation. Moreover, the Red Devils are looking for options. Moises Caicedo and Adrien Rabiot are two of the players in whom Manchester United showed interest.
Declan Rice
Another English midfielder who has attracted all the limelights is West Ham’s captain, Declan Rice. Declan Rice joined West Ham’s academy from Chelsea when he was a teenager. However, he has proved himself one of the best midfielders. Rice became the captain of West Ham United in 2022 after Mark Noble’s retirement. Moreover, Declan Rice captained the Hammers to win their first European trophy after 58 years.
However, Arsenal were the first to make the first official bid for Rice. Their first bid was £80m, including add-ons. But West Ham rejected their first proposal. Arsenal, however, made a second bid worth £90m, which West Ham also turned down. West Ham United are expecting a new bid from Arsenal this week.
On the other hand, English champions Manchester City have also entered the race to sign Declan Rice. Last night, they sent a bid of £90m, £80m plus £10m add-ons. But the London side club didn’t accept it. Their asking price is £120 for Declan Rice. But it is believed that West Ham could sell Rice if they get more than £100m.
