The Thursday night saw two of the most unpredictable games in the English Premier League. Arsenal had a great chance to go to the top of the table, but West Ham United stunned them at their home ground, Emirates Stadium. At the same time, Brighton and Hove Albion smashed Tottenham Hotspur Falmer Stadium. Therefore, Arsenal have fallen to second place, and Tottenham Hotspur have dropped out of the top four.

Arsenal 0-2 West Ham United

Arsenal were just two points behind the table topper, Liverpool, and had a great chance to regain the top place when they welcomed West Ham United at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal were a clear favorite as the home team, but West Ham United surprised the Gunners, going against all odds.

On the back of a win against Manchester United, West Ham United were very confident last night against Arsenal. They tried to play aggressive football since the start of the match. As a result, the Hammers didn’t have to wait much to break the deadlock. In the 13th minute, Thomas Soucek put West Ham United ahead with a cleaver goal.

Arsenal, however, tried hard to get back in the game. They could have leveled the scoreline if Saka hadn’t hit the post in the first half. Therefore, West Ham United went to the break with a one-goal lead.

The second half also saw an early goal for the Hammers. This time, Mavropanos scored his first goal for the Hammers with a powerful header in the 55th minute. In addition, West Ham United could extend their lead when they got a penalty kick in the additional time. But Said Benrahma missed the spot kick, but it couldn’t prevent West Ham’s historical win over Arsenal.

Brighton 4-2 Tottenham

The EPL saw another dramatic match at Falmer Stadium, where Brighton and Hove Albion stunned Tottenham Hotspurs. The match started with the home side taking an early lead over the visitors. Seagulls’ defender Jack Hinshelwood broke the deadlock as he found the net in just 11 minutes.

Brighton became more aggressive after the first goal and highly pressed the visitors. The home side got another opportunity when Tottenham’s midfielder Dejan Kulusevski made a handball inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. However, Joao Pedro took the spot kick and made no mistake!

Coming from the break, the home team continued their dominance against the Spurs. Brighton got the third goal as defender Pervis Estupinan scored an unbelievable goal outside the box. His powerful shot beat Hugo Lloris to find the net.

A few moments later, Joao Pedro completed his brace from another spot kick and made the scoreline 4-0 at Falmer Stadium. Tottenham Hotspur responded in the dying minutes with two goals from Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies. But these were not enough to get a point at Falmer Stadium. In the end, Brighton and Hove Albion won the match by a dominating 4-2 margin.
