Quick Navigation
Manchester City, arguably the best team in the world right now, are dreaming again of the treble. Last year, they did an incredible job and won the treble for the first time in their history. However, it is too early to predict whether Man City could win the treble this year. But the Guardiola boys are all set to face off against Luton Town tomorrow to play the 5th round of the FA Cup.
Manchester City are just one point behind the table topper, Liverpool, in the race for the league title. They will travel to Kenilworth Road to take another step toward FA Cup glory tomorrow.
Luton Town, on the other hand, got plenty of admirers this season for their attacking play style. They have been a real problem for some big clubs in the Premier League. However, the Hatters will host Man City tomorrow on the back of three league defeats in a row against Sheffield United, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Stats & Facts
- Luton Town have never met Man City in the FA Cup since 1969, when Manchester City won the third-round tie by a 1-0 margin.
- Man City have already defeated Luton Town this season. In an away game, the Citizens beat the Hatters by a 2-1 margin in the Premier League.
- A win over Manchester City would see Luton Town securing the quarterfinal of the FA Cup for the first time since the 1993-1994 campaign.
- Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 17 games across all competitions. However, they have failed to score more than one goal in each of their last three games in the Premier League.

Luton Town will miss several players ahead of the match against Man City. Due to the injuries, the Hatters will miss the service of Tom Lockyer, Marvelous Nakamba, Jacob Brown, and Mads Andersen. However, Alfie Doughty and Albert Sambi Lokonga have returned to training and should be available for tomorrow’s match.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola benched Jeremy Doku, Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, and Kyle Walker in the match against AFC Bournemouth last week. However, these players are likely to be recalled for tomorrow’s match in the FA Cup. However, the Citizens could miss the service of defender Josko Gvardiol.
On Gvardiol, Pep said, “I don’t know [if he will play]. He’s training without much pain. Still, he didn’t train with us, but he’s on the verge to come back.”
Possible Lineup for Luton Town:

Possible Lineup for Man City:

Prediction: Luton 0-2 Man City
Following three defeats in a row, it is really hard for Luton to make a comeback against the title chaser, Manchester City. Luton have conceded four goals against Liverpool, which reflected their defensive weakness under pressure.
On the other hand, Man City are are running hard to overpass Liverpool in the point table. They are in a good rhythm and are clear favorite in the match against Luton Town.
