Quick Navigation

Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, Man United have appointed several high profile managers. Despite their efforts, none of them was able to win a league title for Manchester United. However, the revolution has started with the takeover.

British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has acquired 25% of the club share. As per the deal, Jim Ratcliffe will invest $300 million in signing new players, developing the academy, and making structural improvements to the club. However, the process has been started with appointing the new CEO for the club. Omar Berrada, who has been serving as Chief Football Operations Officer for City Football Group, has signed for Man United as the club’s CEO. Additionally, more new faces will likely come into the management as Newcastle’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, has agreed to join Man United.

But apart from the management section, it is believed that Manchester United will be very active in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Red Devils were very quiet in the winter transfer window, but Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS has already started working with the manager Erik Ten Hag to sign new players in the upcoming window.

But Manchester United are well aware of offloading players. Let’s have a look at whom Manchester United could sign and sell in the transfer window.

Antony

Since joining Man United, Erik Ten Hag signed Brazil winger Antony for £86m from his former club Ajax with lots of high hopes. Unfortunately, Antony failed to score a single goal this season for Manchester United in his 20 appearances.

Consequently, Antony’s game time has been limited, and Ten Hag does not consider him a starter. According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are open to listen to offers for Antony in the summer transfer window.

New CB Coming?

The defense has been one of the major issues for Man United. Lisandro Martinez is out of the squad and will miss the rest of the season. Meanwhile, Rafael Varane is not happy due to his limited game time. Since Harry Maguire made a dramatic U-turn this season, manager Erik Ten Hag prefers to play Maguire instead of Varane. As a result, Varane could leave the club in the next transfer window.

However, whether Varane stays or leaves, Manchester United will go for a new CB in the summer. According to reports, Man United are interested in signing Benfica’s young defender Antonio Silva.

The 20-year-old center-back has made himself as the heart of Benfica’s defense. As a consequence, Antonio Silva has been called for Portugal National Team. His performance hasn’t gone unnoticed, and several top clubs are monitoring him. Erik Ten Hag will be looking for him in the upcoming window.
