Liverpool are flying in the league. They are very close to getting into the top four. Last night, Liverpool beat Leicester City to keep their UCL hope alive. Liverpool defeated the Foxes with a comfortable 3-0 margin, which moved the Klopp boys to one point behind the top four.

With 65 points, Liverpool are in fifth, one point behind Manchester United and Newcastle United. However, The All-Reds have played one game more than Man United. On the other hand, Leicester City are in 19th with 30 points. They have only two games left to play. If they fail to win those two matches, they will be relegated from the league. 

Match Report

Last night, Leicester City welcomed Liverpool at King Power Stadium. In this match, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp set up the team formation with 4-3-3, where Mo Salah led the attack with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo. Jurgen Klopp gives Arnold a new role. Arnold is allowed to play in midfield in his new role. On the other hand, Leicester’s boss played his team in a 4-2-3-1.

The match started with both sides playing attacking football. But Liverpool took control of the match after a few minutes. The All-Reds waited until 33 minutes to get their first goal. Midfielder Curtis Jones scored the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute with the help of Mo Salah.

The English midfielder completed his brace within three minutes as he scored again. Mo Salah again assisted in this goal. After that, Leicester City tried hard to return a goal. But Liverpool’s defense was rock solid. Van Dijk and Ibrahim Konate dropped a top performance last night against the Foxes. Therefore, the All-Reds didn’t concede any in the first half and went to the break with a two-goal lead.

Returning from the break, Liverpool slowed down their game. Meanwhile, the home side desperately pushed to find the net. Unfortunately, the Foxes failed to break Liverpool’s defense. Besides, Liverpool got their third goal in the 71st minute. Trent Alexandre Arnold scored that goal from a brilliant free-kick. His bullet shot found the corner of the net, which secured a comfortable victory against Leicester City. It is Liverpool’s seventh consecutive victory in the league.
