England's Top Order Collapsed
Losing the toss, England started their batting innings with Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook. But from the very first over, New Zealand's pacers showed their aggression. Pacers Trent Boult, Matt Henry, and Tim Southee had an unbelievable opening spell against the English batters. Due to their aggression with the ball, England lost three wickets in just six runs. England were five wickets down in 55 runs. Liam Livingstone, however, stepped up to rescue the team. He made some small partnerships with Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, which helped to tackle the disaster. Although Moeen Ali and Sam Curran couldn't last long, Liam Livingstone remained not out. With six and nine fours, Livingstone scored an unbeaten 95 from 78 balls. Relying on his bat, England scored 226 runs against New Zealand.Batting Innings of New Zealand
Chasing a small target, New Zealand were under tremendous pressure. They lost an early wicket as Fin Allan had gone duck in the very first over. But Devon Conway and Will Young tried hard to make a partnership. Together they added 49 runs in the scoreboard until Conway lost his wicket to Gus Atkinson. After a while, Will Young also returned to the pavilion after being run out by David Willey. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham were leading the Black Caps towards the target. They made a brilliant partnership of 56 runs for New Zealand. But the disaster started when Tom Latham lost his wicket after picking 19 runs. The rest of the New Zealand's batters couldn't score ten runs individually. They couldn't even stand in front of English pacers. However, Daryl Mitchell was the only exception. He tried his best to make a good result. Mitchell scored the highest 56 runs for New Zealand, but lost his wicket to Moeen Ali in the 25.2 over. After that, England's bowlers didn't take much time to pick all the wickets. David Willey and Reece Topley got three wickets each, while Moeen Ali picked up two wickets. Therefore, New Zealand become all out in just 147 runs with seven overs in their hand. As a result, England won this thrilling game by 79 runs and made a strong comeback.Score Card
