A massive test is waiting for Erik Ten Hag as his side is ready to take on Tottenham Hotspur this Super Sunday at Old Trafford. The English Premier League returns with some highly anticipated games, and the Manchester United VS Tottenham Hotspurs match is one of them.

Tottenham Hotspur made a dramatic start early in the season, winning their first 11 games in a row. However, the Spurs lost their rhythm when several key players got injured. Tottenham are now trying hard to get back on the winning track.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have been struggling since the start of the season. They are very inconsistent throughout the season. However, Erik Ten Hag is desperate to show some magic when his side takes on the Spurs on Sunday.

  • Man United already have lost nine games in the league this season – as many as they lost in the entire of the previous season.

Team News

Man United have been dealing with a number of injured players, but this break has been a blessing for the Red Devils. Lisanadro Martinez, Casemiro, and Luke Shaw have returned to the training ground and are in contention for the match against Tottenham.

“This week in training, in the last couple of days, Licha Martinez [is] training, Casemiro [is] training, Luke Shaw [is] training. So, there are players returning, they are coming in for selection for Sunday,” Ten Hag said in the press conference.

Andre Onana is available, but Sofyan Amrabat is on international duty for Morocco in the AFCON Cup. However, Man United will miss the service of Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, and Anthony Martial due to their respective injury.

As for Tottenham, Son Heung-min and Yves Bissouma are unavailable due to their international duty. However, Christian Romero is back in training and should be available for the match against Man United.

Possible Lineup for Manchester United:

Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Evans, Dalot; McTominay, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

Possible Lineup for Tottenham Hotspur:

Vicario; Porro, Emerson, Van de Ven, Udogie; Skipp, Bentancur; Johnson, Kulusevski, Werner; Richarliso

Prediction: Man United 2-1 Tottenham

As the home team, Manchester United will have massive support from the gallery. Moreover, the return of Martinez and Casemiro would be a key factor for the Red Devils.

On the other hand, the absence of Son Heung-min has been a massive blow for the Spurs. James Maddison is still unavailable due to injury. As a result, we expect Man United to win this crucial game and seal all three points at Old Trafford.
