Real Madrid beat Chelsea
In the first leg, Spanish giant Real Madrid defeated Chelsea by a 2-0 margin. Therefore, Chelsea had to win last night with a minimum margin of two goals. But Real Madrid gave them zero chance to make a comeback in the second leg. Last night, Chelsea hosted Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s interim boss Frank Lampard was desperate to get his first victory as he is yet to get a win for Chelsea. Lampard set up the team formation with 3-4-2-1, while Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti played his team in his usual 4-3-3 formation.
As the home team, Chelsea were very dominating in the first half. They created some crucial chances in the first half, but Thibaut Courtois dropped a world-class performance to keep the clean sheet for Real Madrid.
However, Real Madrid killed the game in the second half. Brazilian youngster Rodrygo scored the first goal for Real Madrid in the 58th minute. He also scored the second as he found the net in the 80th minute with the help of Velvarde. As a result, Real Madrid won the game and advanced to the semifinals on a 4-0 aggregate.
AC Milan ended Napoli’s flying run
For the third time of this month, AC Milan has defeated Napoli. As Napoli lost the first leg by 1-0, they had to win the second leg. But AC Milan didn’t let this happen. Striker Oliver Giroud scored the first goal of the match in the 43rd minute after he missed a penalty in the 22nd minute.
However, Napoli also had a crucial chance in the final ten minutes. In the 80th minute, Napoli earned a penalty kick. Unfortunately, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed that golden chance. But the Serie A topper tried until the last and scored a goal in injury time. Therefore, the match was tied by 1-1, but AC Milan reached the semifinals on a 2-1 aggregate.
