Reigning champion Real Madrid hosted Chelsea FC last night in the 1st leg of the quarterfinal. Carlo Ancelotti set up the team formation with 4-3-3, while Chelsea's new boss Frank Lampard played his team in a 3-5-2 formation. As the home team, Real Madrid were very dominating at Santiago Bernabeu. They kept more possession than Chelsea in the first half. Real Madrid took only 21 minutes to take the lead against Chelsea. Karim Benzema, the top scorer for Real Madrid this season, scored the first goal for the Los Blancos in the 21st minute. After that, both sides tried hard to find the net, but no one could in the remaining minutes of the first half. Therefore, the first half ended in 1-0 for Real Madrid. Returning from the break, Chelsea tried hard and pushed for goals. Unfortunately, Real Madrid's defense was rock solid for the English side, and didn't concede. Chelsea's Ben Chilwell fouled Rodrygo badly and has seen a red card. After that, Real Madrid became more dominant in ten men's Chelsea. Especially, Vinicius Junior was fantastic last night. He was literally unstoppable against the Blues. He was also involved in the 2nd goal which was scored by Marco Asensio in the 74th minute. While Real Madrid were fighting against Chelsea, the Italian giant were also playing against Napoli at San Siro. Napoli FC have been brilliant throughout the season. But AC Milan defeated them twice, including last night. Napoli, unfortunately, didn't get the service of Victor Osimhen in these two games. The Nigerian is injured and Napoli suffered very much in his absence. Last night, AC Milan defeated Napoli by a narrow 1-0 margin at San Siro.
