A few months ago, the Glazer family stated that they would love to hear offers for Manchester United. Many parties have shown interest in buying Manchester United since then. Yet, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe revealed his strong desire to purchase the team because he has been a fan of Manchester United since he was a young boy.

The INEOS, a company of Jim Ratcliffe, already sent a bid for the club. But things have changed last night when Qatari Sheikh entered the race to buy the English giant.

Qatari wants to buy Man United

Qatari Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the chairman of Qatar bank QIB, entered the race to buy ownership of Manchester United. Sheikh Jassim studied in the UK when he was 10. He has become a fan of Manchester United since then.

However, The Qatari wants to take the club to its former glory. They have made a project to make Manchester United the best in the world. The project will be a long-term project. In their view, the Qataris will invest in buying new players, producing world-class players from the academy, and developing infrastructure.

Statement

A statement has been released on behalf of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Than. It reads, “Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani today [Friday February 17] confirmed his submission of a bid for 100 per cent of Manchester United Football Club. The bid plans to return the club to its former glories both on and off the pitch, and – above all – will seek to place the fans at the heart of Manchester United Football Club once more.”

“The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training center, the stadium, and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the club supports.”

“The vision of the bid is for Manchester United Football Club to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world. More details of the bid will be released, when appropriate, if and when the bid process develops,” it added.
