We are all set for the ultimate battle between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, two Spanish powerhouses and city rivals. Both teams are ready to face off against each other tonight in a neutral venue in Saudi Arabia to play the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup.

The match between these two sides has always been very intense. Real Madrid, however, will face Atletico Madrid once again within a few days. After tonight’s semifinal in the Spanish Super Cup, the Los Blancos will meet them again next Friday as they have been drawn away to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey last 16.

Therefore, tonight’s clash is very crucial for the two teams to gain confidence. On the other hand, it is a chance for the Diego Simeone boys to avenge their last season’s defeat to Real Madrid in the quarter-final of the Copa Del Rey.

However, Real Madrid are in excellent form across all competitions. They are the table topper with 48 points from the 19 league games. Moreover, the Los Blancos are in a 19-game unbeaten run and will look to extend the streak when they face off against Atletico Madrid tonight. Interestingly, the last team that defeated Real Madrid was Atletico Madrid! The Simeone boys beat the Los Blancos last September with a comfortable 3-1 margin, thanks to Morata’s brace and Griezmann’s stunner.

Team News

Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez got a knock during the match against Arandina in Copa Del Rey. He will surely miss tonight’s game as he failed to recover. Real Madrid will also miss the service of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and David Alaba due to their respective injury.

However, Ferland Mendy is ready to be back as he returned to training after missing Real Madrid’s last three games. Vinicius Junior and Aurelien Tchouameni are also likely to return tonight after having a rest in Real Madrid’s last game.

As for Atletico Madrid, they will miss the service of Thomas Lemar as he is still having an Achilles injury. Reinildo Mandava is also unavailable as he is on international duty. The rest of the players are available and ready to play against Real Madrid.

Possible Lineup for Real Madrid:

Lunin; Carvajal, Rudiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Kroos, Modric, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Vinicius

Possible Lineup for Atletico Madrid:

Oblak; Molina, Gimenez, Witsel, Hermoso, Lino; Llorente, Koke, De Paul; Griezmann, Morata

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid are having a great time in all competitions. They lost only one of their last 20 games across all competitions. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid has been going through a lot of ups and downs. They have been inconsistent since the start of the season. Although they defeated Real Madrid in their most recent game, it will be very difficult for the Simeone boys to beat Real Madrid in tonight’s crucial game.
