Two of the leading bidders to purchase Manchester United, which is reportedly up for sale, are Qatari Sheikh Jasim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Both bidders are the die-hard fan of this club. Qatari Sheikh Jasim has already bid with a world record fee, which is believed to be more than five billion pounds.

Sheikh Jasim wants to take full control of the club. Jasim intends to not only buy players but also improve the infrastructure as part of his plan to develop the club. He will also invest in the women’s team as well as in the academy. On the other hand, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe doesn’t want full ownership of Manchester United. He proposed to get the majority of the ownership, more than 50%.

Current Situation

The Glazers family has always been asking for more than 6 billion pounds for Manchester United. They preferred not to sell for less than their asking price. But the Qataris have made their final proposal, take it or leave it. However, Manchester United haven’t rejected it yet. They are waiting.

But according to reports, the Glazer family will likely sell the majority of the ownership to Jim Ratcliffe. Therefore, Glazer can hold the minority stakes and can make profits. However, at the match against West Ham United, a protest took place outside of Old Trafford as fans voiced their dissatisfaction.

Summer plans

The summer transfer window is coming soon, and Erik Ten Hag is planning to sign some players. But the manager is not aware of the budget for the transfer window. Manager Erik Ten Hag is desperate to sign a genuine number nine. Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are two of his targets for the summer transfer window.

Harry Kane is likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Therefore, many top clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United are in the race to sign England’s striker. But to sign Kane, Man United need to splash the cash. Manchester United’s budget for the upcoming transfer window is uncertain, as it may depend on the outcome of the potential takeover, highlighting the importance of financial planning.
