The first El Clasico of the year is set to take place tonight in a neutral venue as FC Barcelona will face off against Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. Although El Clasico has lost its intensity after the Messi-Ronaldo era, it is still a highly anticipated match between the two giants of Spain.

Real Madrid, however, is having a fantastic season, leading the title race along with Girona. On the other side, FC Barcelona are not in their peak form in the league as they are eight points behind the top spot.

It’s not merely a match between two giants, it’s a game of pride as well. Additionally, this El Clasico is a great chance to win the season’s first trophy.

However, the journey was quite difficult for the Los Blancos. They had a nerve-breaking fight in the semifinal against Atletico Madrid. Despite going behind twice, Real Madrid made a dramatic comeback and won the match by a 5-3 margin. Barcelona, meanwhile, didn’t have to suffer much as they defeated Osasuna by a comfortable 2-0 margin in the semifinal.

Team News

Real Madrid will miss the service of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and David Alaba due to their respective injury, while Lucas Vazquez remains out of the squad due to a hamstring injury.

Federico Valverde got a knock during the match against Atletico Madrid and was forced off in the first half. However, the Uruguayan is likely to return tonight against Barcelona.

As for Barcelona, Brazilian midfielder Rafinha got a knock during the match against Osasuna and is expected to be unavailable for tonight’s El Clasico. Therefore, Lamine Yamal is likely to play in the starting XI.

Like Real Madrid, Barcelona will also miss a number of players due to injury. Their injury list includes Joao Cancelo, Marc-Andre ter Stegen Marcos Alonso, Inigo Martinez, and Gavi. However, Pedri is likely to return as he has recovered from an injury.

Possible Lineup for Real Madrid:

Lunin; Carvajal, Rudiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Modric, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Vinicius

Possible Lineup for Barcelona:

Pena; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; Pedri, De Jong, Gundogan; Yamal, Felix, Lewandowski

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona

As both teams are having a good time, it is really difficult to predict who will be the winner. Real Madrid showed their fighting spirit a thousand times. If they go behind, they are still confident to make a comeback. This is the most powerful area for the Los Blancos, which can inspire them to win against FC Barcelona.
