After that, Australia lost some quick wickets and had gone under tremendous pressure. But Alex Carey played a vital role for the Aussies. He scored the highest 66 runs. However, Australia declared their innings after picking up 270 runs in the second innings. As a result, India needed 444 runs when they start their second innings.

Chasing the target, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill tried to start the innings aggressively. Their approach was very energetic. However, pacer Scott Boland drew the first blood as he picked up Shubman Gill in the 7.1 over. Captain Rohit Sharma had a good knock also, scoring 43 off 60 balls. Relying on him, India were heading forward to the target. But Australia picked up two more wickets in a very short time. Sharma departed the crease in 19.5 overs, while Pujara lost his wicket in the 20.4 over.

However, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are still on the crease. Virat already has scored 44 off 60, while Rahane is not out in 20 runs. They both will continue tomorrow.
